Trump’s approval is at 33%. Could it follow Republicans to the ballot box?

WASHINGTON (ABNN) - Trump's approval is at 33%. Could it follow Republicans to the ballot box?

With less than 65 days before November's midterm elections, President Donald Trump's approval rating remains at the lowest point of his political career.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll completed Aug. 31 found that 33% of U.S. adults approve of the job Trump is doing. It is the third consecutive Reuters/Ipsos poll to place his approval at that level.

The latest low numbers come as the United States ramps up military strikes on Iran. The conflict has also caused oil prices to increase.

The poll also shows Democrats reporting more enthusiasm than Republicans about voting in November.

Among registered voters, 46% of self-identified Democrats said they were "very enthusiastic" about voting, while another 18% said they were "somewhat enthusiastic."

That compares with 31% of Republicans who said they were "very enthusiastic" and 24% who described themselves as "somewhat enthusiastic."

The four-day poll surveyed 1,167 U.S. adults nationwide. Its overall margin of error was three percentage points in either direction. The enthusiasm findings came from 924 registered voters included in the survey.

Mr. Trump's continued unpopularity could weigh on Republicans beyond the White House. A national poll cannot determine individual races, but with Democrats reporting more enthusiasm, Trump's standing may still show up at the ballot box on Election Day.
